Improving Residents and Fellows Training by Extending a Point-of-Care Education and Decision Support Resource

Based on a multisource gap analysis including interviews with program directors from specialty physician training programs, a novel educational platform was designed for residents and fellows in training and directors of these training programs. The platform provides specialty expert-authored, evidence-based, peer-reviewed CME-certified content enhanced by several reference databases, as well as unique features such as forums, self-assessment tools and other resources. Training directors and trainees were given access to the platform starting in April 2015. All enrolled users receive unlimited access to the content and resources for their specialty for the duration of the training program. Insights derived from the development of this resource are presented.
