CCO Awarded Joint Accreditation for Its Continuing Education Program

Clinical Care Options’ Interprofessional Educational Activities Result in Improved Teamwork, Communication, and Patient Outcomes

Reston, Virginia – July 31, 2018 - Care Options (CCO), a global leader in the development of innovative, interactive, Web-based and live certified educational activities and proprietary medical education technologies for healthcare professionals and interprofessional teams, announced today that it has been awarded Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE).

Joint Accreditation is a collaboration of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), and Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry’s Council on Optometric Practitioner Education (ARBO/COPE). Accreditation allows CCO to simultaneously provide medicine, pharmacy, nursing, physician assistant, and optometry continuing education activities for healthcare professionals. As a leading model for interprofessional collaborative practice, Joint Accreditation for IPCE establishes the required standards for education providers to deliver IPCE.

CCO demonstrated its ability to plan and develop educational activities as well as execute and assess clinical gaps of interprofessional teams to meet the rigorous criteria to achieve accreditation. “This designation reinforces CCO’s commitment to quality and to exceptional team-based learning activities in today’s complex healthcare environment,” said Robin Murray, President of CCO. “We are proud of the team’s efforts to achieve this recognition.
