Clinical Care Options® to Deliver Presentations at 2013 Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions Featuring Innovative Software Tools


Clinical Care Options (CCO) is proud to have been selected to present key findings on educational initiatives and outcomes in both an educational session and a poster presentation at the 38th Annual Conference of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEHP), January 31 - February 2, 2013, at the Marriott Marquis in San Francisco, California. The Alliance’s annual conference is designed to advance its dedication to accelerating excellence in healthcare performance through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

During the conference, CCO and Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower will present Poster P9“Results of an Educational Algorithm Tool With Specific Case Scenarios.”The authors, Jim Mortimer and Andrew Bowser, ELS, CCMEP, from CCO and Eric Peterson, EdM, FACEHP, from Annenberg Center, collaborated on the analysis demonstrating the effectiveness of CCO’s novel Interactive Decision Support Tools.

These unique Web-based tools, developed by CCO’s software engineers, help clinicians select optimal management strategies for patients using novel, algorithmic approaches to providing expert recommendations. The poster will use data from several tools available on the CCO Oncology Web site to demonstrate how complex education topics can be applied in practice. This presentation will be heldin the Yerba Buena Grand Assembly/Lower B2, January 31 - February 2, 2013.

An intensive session (Session S5) will be presented by Erik Brady, PhD, CCMEP, from CCO and John Ruggiero, PhD, MPA, CCMEP, from Genentech, entitled, “Get Smart With Data: From Objectives to Item Placement to Analysis.” This educational session has been designed to train participants in aligning objectives with questions to ensure accurate measurement while applying best practices in item placement to maximize participation, and in developing methods for outcomes analysis to better leverage the data. The session will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2013, from 10:00 am to 12:15 pm in meeting room Foothill G/second floor.
